De Lutti Pierluigi

Monfalcone, 1959

Pierluigi de Lutti was born in Monfalcone on August 23, 1959. At the age of 17, he left the family home and moved to Ferrara, where for several years he alternated studies with sports. His lifelong interest in art—he graduated from the Art Institute—emerged in the 1980s when, upon returning to Friuli, he came into contact with Luciano Chinese's Nuovo Spazio gallery and with the art critic Paolo Rizzi, who would follow him until his death in 2006. His artistic breakthrough, however, came with his attendance at the atelier of Maestro Giuseppe Zigaina. The poet Mario Stefani wrote about him for a long time. In those years, he began exhibiting his next works, which were appreciated by the public and critics, not only locally. In the 1990s, he attended long courses in abstract art in Los Angeles and New York, thus moving from figurative art to informal art. In 2005, he began collaborating with the Orler art gallery, and the general public immediately appreciated his work and continues to follow his artistic development with interest. After selecting a work in 2005, "Doppia ferita 2001," the MoMA in New York invited him to join The Artist Viewing Program, placing the catalog Attuale Spiritualismo in the museum's library. In 2008, after placing second in the international Boè prize, he received a degree in art history from the University of Verbano. He then began collaborating with DJT Fine Art Gallery in New York.
