Bertozzi e Casoni
Borgo Tossignano, Bologna, 1957
The artistic duo Bertozzi & Casoni , formed by Giampaolo Bertozzi (b. 1957) and Stefano Dal Monte Casoni (1961–2023), was born in the 1980s and is today internationally recognized as one of the most important interpreters of contemporary ceramic sculpture.
Their work is distinguished by a striking hyperrealism , through which they transform everyday objects, still lifes, and symbolic scenes into works of strong visual and conceptual impact. Behind the apparent formal perfection lies a profound reflection on the themes of vanitas , time, consumption, and the fragility of existence.
Their works have been exhibited in prestigious museums and institutions, helping to redefine the role of ceramics in the contemporary art scene.
