Alinari Luca

Firenze, 1943 - 2019

Luca Alinari (Florence, 1943) is an Italian painter who developed a strong passion for drawing and painting from a young age. In the 1960s, he studied literature and became interested in art criticism; in 1968, he held his first solo exhibition at the Galleria Inquadrature.

His early work was influenced by Neo-Dada research and characterized by the use of diverse techniques such as collage, decalcomania, photography, and fluorescent colors. From the second half of the 1970s, his work gained increasing attention, and in 1982 he was invited to the Venice Biennale.

His painting is distinguished by the absence of traditional perspective and the creation of fantastical, fairy-tale worlds, constructed with bright, vibrant colors. He also successfully pursues graphic art, particularly silkscreen and lithography.
